♀383 ♂294 associating
3(F). The ♀♀ really
seem to be flycatching a lot,
the ♂♂ eating acorns. Have
yet to see a ♂ flycatch
1040, ♂ NB intruder, chased
slightly by ♀383, then strongly
by ♂294. 1055, a ♀
looking out of last years
nest (in the creek
sycamore). They must
be thinking about it.
End 1100.
17 April Start watch 0830 0850, a ♀ in the nest, ♂486 "visits"
while she's there. I think ♀269 in. 0920, ♀269 in
again. 1005, ♀383 looks in, does not enter.
1015, ♀♀ together on horiz. branch, both give tail up,
wing droop waving 1020, ♀269 in again, visited by ♂486
1030 ♀383 enters nest, leaves after 2 mi'
1035, ♂486 enters nest, immediately followed by ♀383.
They could have been in the nest at the same time but
I couldn't be sure. ♀383 stayed several minutes,
1055, ♀269 enters nest, ♂486 visits. If they don't
already have eggs, they must be ready to lay any day.
