Gazebo Hastings Reservation
16 April 3 birds roost in the "arch hole", south of the granary area along
the road.
17 April Cruise by at 1645. Good & bad news. I flushed a bird
out of the low hole just downhill from the granary. Bad for
our manipulation, if they already have a nest. Good news
is that at least one of the babies is still here looking
Metal/Green-Blue
like a member in good standing. 509 here,
eating a huge caterpillar! (F). Also 516 plus at least
mauve/Black-white (W) Also
1 or 2 others, 1715 485
Pink/Metal 510 may have also been
around, but I couldn't be sure.
3 June Swung by here just to see if the death of the honcho
had precipitated a revolution. No evidence of such though,
The babies seem to have fledged.
19 June Cruised by, and couldn't & find anybody, save for a
very fleeting glimpse of a juvenile
24 June Another visit at last producing some sightings. 517 Pink/n
