Melanerpes formicivorus
Y Hastings Reservation
14 April Walking by at 0820, a ♀ karriting from the sycamores, then the Davis' Pines. Couldn't determine if it was one of the School Hill sisters, who have been frequenting the Y.
18 April Surprise, ♂402 yellow/DPink here-at 1215, poking around in the locusts. He must not have plans on "breeding" at School Hill!
24 April Lots of garricking here around 0730.
30 April Plaque birds (♂521 for sure) here at 1400.
4 July ♂, 2♀♀ here, including ♀523 DBlue/wht-DBlue. Presume others are SHill birds also, as Sandy et al have seen them here frequently.
5 July ♂402 Yell/DPink from SHill here at 0800.
13 Sept ♀524 DGreen-BPink/w from SHill plus at least one + perhaps 2 other birds here at 0915. One a juvenile (?).

9 Nov 1330, ♂402 ""/"" here in the locusts by the Lower Barn.
a ♀ also here. 1400, manage to see, in addition to ♂402 metal / Decoupler all 4 young♀♀ here: ♀523 DBlue/wht-DBlue, ♀524 wh B/k/wht ♀602 Blk-wht/m, ♀604 Red-wht/Blk. Wh-, aren't they home storing acorns? Mostly flycatching action here. No acorns in the locust granary.
1 Dec 0130. Once again, the entire School Hill "Youth contingent" (♂402, ♀♀523, 524, ♂602, ♂604) all here in the Lower Barn Locust trees. Possible that they are storing acorns, gathered from Live Oaks along Big Creek.
