Mumme (Golden Eagle) Aquila chrysaetos Hastings Reservation, Monterey County, CA 15 July While doing the "grasshopper walk" near the Blomquist - Pump cattle pond, about 1730, saw a Golden Eagle circling over the Blomquist knoll - MacRoberts area. It was being continually harassed by a pair of Red-tailed Hawks, which dove at it constantly, often giving their shriek calls in the process. Although I did not have binoculars with me, the eagle appeared to be an adult.
