12 May Bad news, the nest may be abandoned! The bird that roosted
last night emerged at 0550 (0450). Checking the nest, still
one marked egg. The, nothing for 9 hours, through my watch,
Walter's & Gwen's. Late in the PM I saw a bird fly to the
nest tree, but checking it at 0600, still one egg. We
cancelled around-the-clock watches after Gwen's watch,
1515 (1415). I checked the "canyon" hole at 1500,
still nothing, although a bird did fly to the tree while
I was hanging in it. Watching in the PM, a few idle
trips up watertank hill and to Blom canyon, but that
was all. I watch roosting up in the canyon hole, zero!
Many watches the nest, one bird roosted
