0610 (0710) -- Bluebirds are back ! Fed up with them, I shoot
the male, Didn't really want to, but I sure didn't
want them fucking up the nest. 0621 ♂521 chases
♀ Bluebird, looks in briefly. And another chase of
♀ " from nr. nest at 0623. 0625, looks in again !
0626 -- another chase by ♂521, looks in again
0654 --
"
708.40 709 710.40 -- ♀494 is about
a minute and a half, head in + out all the time, checks
nest, still one marked egg.
0930 -- watching group. delayed follow of ♂#03 494
by ♂473. 1000, Another very nice bit of aggression
(4-5)
between the ♀♀ . ♀494 delivered a series of very
sharp pecks to the head of ♀496, while on a small
stub in the 2° tree. ♂473 wasn't in the immediate
vicinity, but he did fly to the ♀♀ shortly thereafter.
♂473 + ♀404 may not be as tight as I thought.
He initiated flight away from her.
Starting again at 1250 after nap !
♀496 has two "nobs" on right side of forehead
1340, another little chase by ♂521
against ♀496. Still doesn't like her all that much!
* -> 1630 Dominance ! The 2 ♀♀ together in the top of the
2° tree, sharp pecks to head of ♀496 given by ♀494.
1830. I relieve Sandy at nest. She saw nothing in 3 hours,
I see nothing until roosting. ♀494 went in early then a 2nd
unknown bird, one flew out. Hope! Not abandoned yet, even though
no egg laid today.
