9 April The revolution saga continues here. Earlier, Walter reported that the newly banded ♀ had disappeared, and the school Hill ♀♀ had taken the upper hand. The bad news was that in the early PM, the 2 Blomone ♀♀ had shown up, and were winning some influence. I started watching there at 1715, and the following resulted: ① The school Hill ♀♀ were relegated once again to the Locust and sycamore area by the Griffins ② The Blom-one ♀♀ were looking like sure winners; The only chasing going on was ♂521 chasing ♀496, who he seemed to dislike intensely.
Other interesting points ① I actually saw a copulation! ♂473 mounted ♀496, and with a good tail twist, they kept good cloacal contact for 3-4 seconds. They were broken up by ♂521 chasing ♀496 ② His antipathy towards ♀496 notwithstanding, ♂521 seems to like ♀494 pretty well. Twice I saw the two birds exchange mountings she mounting him first! ③ The School Hill ♀♀ "gave up" at 1740. I saw two birds flying south from the locusts, stop briefly at the Davis' pine trees, then continue onup toward School Hill. ④ ♀522 continues her lonely vigil, waking to herself and occasionally [illegible] garricking.
10 April Start @ 1440. Things have quieted down. The Blom-one♀♀ have it wrapped. Mosign of ♀496 & 522. ♀494 chases an unknown intruder, ♂521 still not completely happy with ♀496. He nips at her once after 3-way OWnakin
