7 July While watching woodpeckers at Finch Creek near
the Carmel Valley Road (1st) crossing, I watched a
family of Mountain Quail descending from Poison Oak
Hill, presumably heading toward Finch Creek and
water. The two adults had 9 juveniles in tow;
All looked roughly 2/3 the size of the adults.
