R.L.Murne Journal Hastings Reservation 27 Dec Spent all day running the Hermit through nets along Big Creek, with some success, catching six birds. Also saw a winter Wren 28 Dec Assisted Walter with a successful ambush at Warp 5 left for Berkeley then Mono Lake in the afternoon. 29 Dec Drove to Mono Lake with Dave Winkler + Brian McCaffery, Rough-legged Hawk (lifer) along Carson Valley Plain. Arrived at Mono ca 1600 hrs. 30 Dec Scouted Rattlesnake Gulch with Wink, Brian + Dave Gaines 31 Dec Mono Christmas Bird Count. I go with Kathy Teare and "Cheryl" from Lake Tahoe. We do all right with the Dickies. Our list was as follows: Our area was Williamson Butte, Horse Meadow, Cain Ranch, Lee Vining dump, and the lake between Lee Vining Tufa + Navy Beach.
