Say's Phoebe, kinglets back 27 Sept. 26-29 Sept Frank at Hastings, lots of good eating, very little studying, 30 Sept An extremely hot day reaching 103°. Watched acorn storage at Hay Blom saw a fine Bobcat along the lane, noted the return of Golden Crowned Sparrows, read and hangout at the swimming hole. 1 Oct Another blistering day. Fooled around watching at the Road, swimming, reading, etc. Roosting at Lambert 2 Oct Accomplished little today. Collected bugs. Hot! 3 Oct Went grocery shopping early today, swimming, some studying. Roosting at Lambert, 4 Oct Walter & I started acorn crop surveys on the Arnold today, some reading. Dessert & some pickin' & grinnin' at the Griffins. 5 Oct Acorn crop survey along the Road. Reading, Swimming, etc. 6 Oct Acorn crop survey along Big Creek, etc. 7 Oct "Haystack & School H1/11. 8 Oct Studying all day 9 Oct Semi studying all day 9 Nov Hello! Remember me? After non-stop orals studying for a month, I'm now ready for action once again. Watched some this afternoon at 1800+ Plaque, plus seeing a lot of School Hill birds at Y. Wrote letters, etc. cleaned. German 10 Nov Did well watching at Finch, OK at Road 1. Cleaned up the cabin, made & brick & board bookcase. Slowly recuperating. Did no German tonight. Tsk, tsk.
