Sandy left this afternoon. 25 July Leave for Berkeley at 0930 with Gwen, BP Cher-cat and all her gear. Nanny arrives at labs late. Salmon at the Myers 26 July Berkeley, AOU work, dinner with Gwen, Nanny, & friends 27 July Return to Hastings 28 July Moving! Swimming hole 29 July Watched at Finch, swimming hole action, worked on AOU data. Injured juvenile from Road 3. 30 July More Finch stuff, grocery run, swimming hole action. dinner with the Hardys. 31 July Bugs, a quick Finch watch, AOU poster. 1 Aug A quick Finch watch, swimming, Ambush set up at B10m 2, AOU poster stuff 2 Aug Failed Ambush, AOU 3 Aug Leave for Berkeley, AOU 4 Aug Leave for Berkeley, then Ft. Collins, etc. See journal supplement. 20 Aug I return to Hastings then to find that 400 acres of Poison Oak Hill burned badly in a fire started from the road on Sunday afternoon, 10 Aug. Damage to watched groups were (1) Road 1: Loss of sycamore nest & roost tree, plus a few storage holes contained therein. (2) Finch, which lost the top stuff of the sycamore containing storage holes and pre-1980 nest holes.
