1980 R.L. Munne 21 Journal Hastings Reservation 10 July Today was the annual pilgrimage to Tassahara Hot Springs with Pat Walter, Sandy, Jon Griffin. Gwen didn't come, as she was planning to go Sunday with friends. A very good time, even seeing my first Dipper, and an old (from this spring) nest at the exact spot that Larry, Nancy & I swam last year. - Also Orioles (nest), 2-3 (can't) Wrens, 11 July Low productivity today. Watched poorly at Hay Blom, 3/om. Then went into town for shopping, movies, bank. The movie at the CV library was Willie Shakespeare's Henry V[illegible] a loser in my book. Dinner at the clam Boy was also poor. 12 July Not a great day. I start by finding 4/5 of the Plaque nestlings dead in the hole. Grim. Then news of some Lamb-affiliates operating a little camp in East Ravine. Watched a little at Road 1, scouted for a Finch Creek swimming hole. Dinner in the cabin with Michael & Hillary, friends of Gwen. 13 July Watched poorly at Hay Blom & School. It'll mostly prepared to go to Mono Lake tomorrow. Roosting at Buckeye. 14 July Left for Mono Lake at 0700. A very nice drive, stopping in the Sierras along Tioga Pass Road for Hermit Thrush, Hermit [illegible] Warbler (Cot? feeding young), Audubon's Warbler, [illegible] Water McGillivray's warbler, Junco, House Wren (7000 feet), Ducky (?), Flycatcher, Clark's Nutcracker, White-crowned Sparrow (8-10000 ft) Also stopped at Tioga Meadow, but Paul Sherman wasn't there. Kickback around Lee Vining Canyon briefly, seeing G-rs-beak. Arrived at Dave's cabin at 1830. Dave, Suzanne 15 July Left for Krakatoa. Bowling at night.
