10 July Today was the annual pilgrimage to Tassahara Hot Springs with
Pat Walter, Sandy, Jon Griffin. Gwen didn't come, as she was
planning to go Sunday with friends. A very good time, even
seeing my first Dipper, and an old (from this spring) nest
at the exact spot that Larry, Nancy & I swam last year.
- Also Orioles (nest), 2-3 (can't) Wrens,
11 July Low productivity today. Watched poorly at Hay Blom, 3/om.
Then went into town for shopping, movies, bank. The
movie at the CV library was Willie Shakespeare's Henry V[illegible]
a loser in my book. Dinner at the clam Boy was also poor.
12 July Not a great day. I start by finding 4/5 of the Plaque nestlings
dead in the hole. Grim. Then news of some Lamb-affiliates
operating a little camp in East Ravine. Watched a little at Road 1,
scouted for a Finch Creek swimming hole. Dinner in the cabin with
Michael & Hillary, friends of Gwen.
13 July Watched poorly at Hay Blom & School. It'll mostly prepared to
go to Mono Lake tomorrow. Roosting at Buckeye.
14 July Left for Mono Lake at 0700. A very nice drive, stopping
in the Sierras along Tioga Pass Road for Hermit Thrush, Hermit
[illegible]
Warbler (Cot? feeding young), Audubon's Warbler, [illegible] Water
McGillivray's warbler, Junco, House Wren (7000 feet), Ducky (?),
Flycatcher, Clark's Nutcracker, White-crowned Sparrow (8-10000 ft)
Also stopped at Tioga Meadow, but Paul Sherman wasn't
there. Kickback around Lee Vining Canyon briefly, seeing G-rs-beak.
Arrived at Dave's cabin at 1830.
