1980 R.L.Mumme 20 Journal Hastings Reservation 1 July More refreshing, cloudy weather. I watched at low Hay in the Am, compiled Road 1 nest watches, napped, then watched 1800 in the afternoon. Roosting at Buckeye. 2 July Rain, a real rainy day, with about an inch falling, breaking the July record. Compilation + data working all day, not much else. 3 July Foggy in the Am, clearing in the Pm. Office work, a "dog chase on Blomquist, banding of finch basics, nest check at Road 3, and a sign dedication ceremony at "La Maison Rouge." Roosting at 1500. 4 July Watched at Low Hay + 1800 on a clear day. Roosting at Warp 5. 5 July a workless AM watch at Hay-Blom-LowHay, a grocery run, a BBQ at Red House. Golden Eagle in the Plague rutime. 6 July Fooled around at Shilr Gate in the Am, then an excellent Jay. Dominance watch at 1800 in the afternoon. Roosting at Buckeye. 7 July Watched on Haystack in the morning, banded R3 with water after lunch, then finished up the 1800 dominance table in the Pm. Ran up to the big switchback per ARK. Gwen found bird #600 Rose killed today. Too bad. 8 July Low Hay in the Am, Shill in the Pm, good watches both. Roosting at Buckeye. 9 July Accomplished nothing watching at Shilr in the Am (except writing a letter to Nancy) and a nest watch (shock!) at Plague in the pm, ROOSTING AT Buckeye.
