1480 R.L. Mummer Journal Hastings Reservation (27 May) a routine nest watch at Road 1, ~~see~~ watch for babies r re-nesting at Road 3, Roosting at Buckeye. Weather finally starting to improve. 28 May A surprise late egg b-1 Q496 at Plaque. watched some more at Road 3 (checked the nest hole there) and did a short nest watch at Road 1, Roosting at School Hill 29 May ~~See~~ Slept late, transcribed Plague notes, checked up on School Hill west before dragging the ladder up there with Walter to band the babies. Roosting at Buckeye. 30 May Discover Road 3 with one egg in the earlier nest hole, so I spent a good bit of the day watching them. Started compiling Road 1 nestwatches, then went into town with the whole crew for Pizza, a Sherlock Holmes movie, and ice cream 31 may Road 3 from dawn 'till 0900, a good nest watch at Road 1, then some relaxing, and back out to Road 3 for dusk + roosting 1 June Not a good day. Road 3 laid an egg this morning, but I managed to break the thing. Great. One of the School Hill eggs started to hatch today, and I helped Walter get to the nest at westgate 2 June Another egg at Road 3, which I managed not to break, a quick nest watch at Road 1, more hatching action at School Hill. 3 June More Road 3, School Hill; Also, a short unproductive watch at Gazebo + Plague. Managed to find the nest at Bloom 2, anyway. 4 June Watched at Road 1, explored Warp 5, watched at Road 3. Opened the nest at Bloom 2, a first for me 5 June Leave for Berkeley with Nancy. Rebecca with
