(4 may) perch, checked the Road I nest with Walter, then
worked late on the grant proposal.
5 May More good Plaque watching, Road I nest watch,
School Hill west, a talk on wickers to the Irvine
class, etc.
6 may Bad Plaque watches today, explored Buckeye canyon looking
for potential nests roost sites for Plaque, found (?)
the new nest at Buckfye (low hole), a good nest watch at
Low Hay, then a fun trip into town with Nancy and
Gwen. Roosting at Road I.
7 may Watched at Plaque, and discovered a potential nest hole
(bird looking out) which I was able to open, a
first for me. Helped Walter get up to the non-nest at
Gate, watched the nest at Road I, fucked up roosting
at Plaque, then champagne r pettifores at Red
house.
8 May A 4 hr marathon at the would be Plaque nest produced
nothing. Group watch there was also dull. Also helped
Walter drag the ladder up to School Hill West (incredibly
tough!). Butt but found a Brown Towhee nest in a dead
bush 1 meter off the ground, 4 eggs. Finished moving
my stuff out of Andrews room, and cleaned the floor
in there.
9 May Watched at Plaque, both the "nest" and the group, a.t
at Low Hay. Swainson's Thrashes singing near the bunkhouse.
Rain late in the day, roosting at Plaque. [illegible]
avoided in the gallery and Rex Merrill, Nancy arrived later too
