1979 Ronald L. Mumme Melanerpes formicivorus School Hill West Hastings Reservation (3 Aug) Start watch 0830, A ♂ enters the Black Oak nest hole, stays a few seconds, then leaves. A NBF the follows, looks in the hole, then flies off. Still at least 2 birds here. 1000, checked the nest hole, it was empty. For some reason I didn't think 27 Aug Roosting here, and finally, 2 birds roost in the Black Oak hole.
