5 Aug Made AOU slides & left for Berkeley
6 Aug Berkeley, Apt.
7 Aug Berkeley, "Room Service" with Dave & Suzanne
8 Aug Left Berkeley at 0600, returning to the Reservation at 0915.
Revised the AOU talk some, but mostly cavorted at
Red House with Pam, Walter, Larry & Nancy in honor of
Pam's birthday.
9 Aug Tassahara Hot Springs
10 Aug Final typing of AOU talk. Slept on Red Hill.
11 Aug Berkeley
12-17 Aug college station, Texas, for AOU meetings. Lots of
fun. Saw two lifers, Great-tailed Grackle and
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. Otherwise, typical eastern
birds.
18 Aug Berkeley, Larry & Nancy, David Good.
19 Aug Finally returned to the reservation today, just in
time to pick up bugs. Jim Griffin also
showed me a Mockingbird in his front lawn,
The bird appeared to be a juvenile (streaked
breast) and we watched it forage in Jims front lawn,
wing-flicking animatedly and constantly. Jim had
also seen the bird the day before (18 Aug).
20 Aug An unusually cool, overcast day, but very pleasant. Watched
a little at Road 3 and Finch in the morning. More or less
piddled around in the afternoon, watering the garden at
Red House (Pam & Walt away), fixing my boots, washing clothes,
