(22 July) feel very much at home, I'm sure. Otherwise, I
didn't do too much today. Worked a little on the AOU
talk, collected the insects, helped Pam & Walt clean
up the office for the gallwasp crew, ate a nice
eggplant dinner in the bunkhouse with Nancy, then
weighed the bugs from last week.
23 July Didn't do much today except work on the AOU talk,
sort [illegible] bugs, and watch (or try to watch) roosting
at School Hill west. Afterwards Nancy & I went up to
Red House as Frank arrived from Berkeley
24 July Today we had our "interplanetary" symposium on the
Acorn Woodpecker, talking with Frank about Nancy's
1500 data, Nest help data & AOU talk, and vegetation
sampling. Went swimming briefly with Nancy after
lunch, then sorted bugs until dinner. A great dinner
up at Red House with Frank, Walt, Pam & Nancy.
Slightly loaded from wine, Nancy & I had a nice talk
in the bunkhouse afterwards.
25 July Worked on the paper, weighed bugs and had a "goodbye"
dinner with Nancy, and a goodbye dessert with the
Wickersills & Joan Griffin.
26 July Berkeley, en route to Mono Lake. What a hassle!
Enough said about that.
