3 June -- FLORIDA, Hillsborough Co., N. Tampa area --
Partly cloudy, hot. Working USF area on Tampa summer
bird census with Wayne Hoffman, Stu Santos, Susan
Cox, Linda Benson, Linda Weinland. Most noteworthy
birds were 2 ♀ Am. Redstarts on USF golf course.
Also: Osprey (7, 2 young in nest on Fletcher)
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (12) Hairy Woodpecker (2)
Carolina Chickadee (4) Eastern Bluebird (3)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (6) Prothonotary Warbler (2)
Summer Tanager (5) Bachman's Sparrow (4)
25 June -- FLORIDA, NW Sumter Co., Gum Slough Springs
run off Withlacoochee River -- canoeing with Ken Bradbury
0900 - 1600 hrs. Heard Acadian Flycatchers (2-3),
plus a possible Hooded Warbler singing along the
swamp forest. Did not see the bird, but heard a
good "Weeta Wee Tee-o" song from the understory
of the swamp near the stream. Could have been
a Carolina Wren.

23 July -- FLORIDA, Hillsborough Co., Tampa, Hooters Pt.
During high tide (1600) with Wayne Hoffman, Stu Santos,
Linda Weinland, Susan Cox, saw one Curlew Sandpiper.
Lynn and Brooks Atherton were also there, had seen
it 21 July. Dowitchers (sp?), Western Sandpipers,
Dunlins, Mottled Ducks, Black Terns, Sterna sp.,
also present.
7-8 August -- FLORIDA, Hillsborough Co., T.Terrace.
