31 May -- Georgia, Rabun Co. (cont.) Black and white Warbler -- common (25-50) Warbling worm-eating Warbler -- One on Keener Mt. 30 May and BRMSP 30 May Parula Warbler -- about 5-10 singing mostly along Keener Creek Magnolia Warbler -- near summit of Keener Mt. 30 May. Black-throated Blue Warbler -- 2 at BRMSP 30 May and 1 Double Knob 31 May. Black-throated Green Warbler -- At least 2-3 singing in the hemlocks along Keener Creek. Both the "zoo zee zoo zoo zee" and "zee zee zee zee zoo zee" songs were heard Yellow-throated Warbler -- One near cabin 29 May and one on Keener Mt. 30 May. Chestnut-sided Warbler -- at BRMSP 30 May, giving "rambling song," not "please to meetcha" (Peterson) Ovenbird -- Common, 15-20, singing "Teach TEACH...", no second syllable Louisiana Waterthrush - One along Keener Creek near Joe Gap 29 May. Hooded Warbler -- 3-4 singing , one near cabin Scarlet Tanager -- about 5 singing heard (one seen) in upslope, oak-dominated woods, 1 at BRMSP 30 May. Cardinal -- Fairly common 10 - 15 Rose-breasted Grosbeak -- Singing 30 May, BRMSP Indigo Bunting -- Very common in farming areas, open fields. Rufous-sided Towhee -- Uncommon, no more than 3 seen. Field Sparrow -- one singing along Persimmon Rd, cleared area. Song Sparrow -- very common in Wolf Fork Valley, a few heard singing in mountains, a nest with two young < 5 days found at Caldwell's driveway. addendum - E. Wood Peewee -- 1, BRMSP & 30 May.
