Color notes - Cryptotriton sp. nov. - Bethel 5/23/11 Ventral- dark grey brown w/ very few light grey specks toward sides. Gular region dark grey w/ more light grey flecks. Anterior half of tail dark grey-brown w/ many tiny light grey flecks, posterior half medium brown. Sides of body dark bluen-grey background w/ gold and mottling grey specks, some slightly larger light grey specks. Sides of head same color. Side of tail dark grey-brown w/ light grey -> several larger grey specks on lower part of anterior half, chocolate brown on upper half of anterior half + on posterior half. Dorsum chocolate brown w/ irregular golden-brown dorsol band, several gold-brown specks dorsolaterally. Dorsal surface of tail solid golden-brown. Parotoid region darker golden brown, rest of head darker brown w/ lighter brown specks. Dorsal surface of limbs + feet dark brown w/ golden brown specks. Ventral surface of limbs yellow-brown w/ darker brown spots. Iris brown
