Knits, Dear 2013 Journal Centro Mystal, Chiapas, Mexico (cont.) Oct. 26 ... stream .15.3km (by rd) from the main highway cft passed through forest and we quickly (~15 min) found 7 Plethodysus lacertosa; surely could have found many more. Drove back to Motyntla, took remaining microdrive samples, fixed frogs + had a late dinner of quesadillas. I no longer have any doubt that the Pseudendyusa on Mystal are 2 distinct species. The dex-like one is much smaller than I dex cI've seen elsewhere, especially those we just saw at Puerto del Cielo and Cuiler. I also noticed thergular spots much more in this population; will have to look at those from elsewhere. Unión Juárez, Chiapas, Mexico Oct. 27 Drove from Motyntla to Unión Juárez, on the slopes of Volcan Jacana'. After lunch, tried to go up to look for salamanders but took wrong road + found it blocked. Went back and fixed salamanders from yesterday. cft rained briefly, but heavily in the afternoon. Around 20:06, drove to same spot as in afternoon, at the edge of Gloria Jalguera, and walked up a road <1km to a small stream that passes through patchy/sparsely cloud forest. Carlos found a Graugaster stuarti along the way. We got 6 Plethodysus, matulda on vegetation along the stream. Walked up a path through mostly open scrubby vegetation near forest. cI got an Andis + Carlos bothly got a small Graugaster. Cooked fire for salamanders but saw none. Searched 20:45-22:00. Drove up towards Jacana' but road was closed for construction.
