... in some of the many logs we opened. Much of the habitat was regenerated pine forest. We went to three more small caves close to camp but they were dry and we had fire damage from people living in it. Had lunch after searching from 10:15-12:15, then went back out from 14:15-16:15. Walked ~10 min to a beautiful forest w/ huge fir and cypress trees as well as some oak and opened bromeliads, all of which had tiny of water. Carlos got a Henderitron after we opened ~50 bromeliads. I got a lizard in a rotter log. Lots of moss in this area + still much darned wood from past logging; great for salamanders. After dinner, went back to Cueva La Deputtuna w/ mammal team, who had put bait notes up there; around 20:15, I sat 2 Pseudoeurycea on mossy walls at the cave entrance but nothing inside. Explored 3 sinkholes and searched a lot as it started to rain. Attempted to reach forest where we were this afternoon but got very lost + wandered around for an hour; Jacbo got a Cauphridin. Plot our bearings w/ the help of the GPS and visited one of the small caves on the way back to camp, where Jacobo got another Cauphidin. Hit bed at 00:00, very wet + tired.

Rained all night; stopped at 07:30. Set up and prepped specimens in the morning. After lunch, searched for 2 hours (14:00-16:00) in bromeliads in same forest where we got a lizard + a Henderitron yesterday. Used the bromeliad cutter to reach higher bromeliads; got 7 Henderitron out of the first 20-25 bromeliads we opened.
