June 24 ...It had become cloudy in the afternoon but the night was clear; it had also rained briefly before dinner, so vegetation was wet.
We walked out of town on a path downhill to El Parranjo, and went to a stream just below 2000m. slow. I searched in a cattle pasture and got 3 Ptychophyllo euthyanus on tall, lushy weeds; heard two calling. Got a Hoplhis rascalis + a Sistrum on the ground in the pasture. Heard a frog that made a call of a single hollow chick-like note- couldn't find it, don't know what it might be.
Sima + Jorge had found 2 more male P. euthyanus; I walked along the path and got a metamorph P. matudai, 2 Drollarmarkyla schmitti, and 3 Andis matudai ; all on leaves. Stopped searching at 10:40 (having started at 22:40) and walked up to Boqueron.
June 25 spent morning photographing + pressing specimens. We were told there would be a political meeting (local PRI candidate) at 15:00, so we had to clean up + move everything, which took hours. Started raining shortly after dinner, Jorge + I left at 15:00, just as people were arriving. Walked uphill through El Arenal + found a NOR (macheted?) Thamnophis at the intersection of the road to Boqueron. Continued on this road but nowhere to search along road so we turned back. Sima found a Cerrophidion on the road in El Arenal. Went down another road/path out of Boqueron to the N; I got a B. f. ingolfensis in a log, an A. cressulae + a Graugaster. Meeting ended, so we went back and had dinner and got ready to sleep.
After dinner, found 3 Bufo brevitali on the near field. Went to
