It had rained hard from ~15:30-17:00 or so and conditions seemed ideal, but I saw only one small Botrychse on a leaf. I don't understand why we're not seeing any Craugastor here. When we got back, we were told that people from Altar Chrean were mad that we had been given permission to work by the comisario w/o talking to the town assembly first, and that they had complained to the people in San Francisco Juntal. At 05:00, waited for villagers to come. Meeting convened at 06:30, was conducted in Chol, and resulted in us being kicked out. A few people spoke in our favor, including one small boy ([illegible]) who taught me a few words of Chol (frog = mich, salamander = aket) and told them that we had released some birds. We were the first foreigners to ever visit the site, and they didn't understand what we were doing. We packed up the nets and set off for Nemustiano Carranza.
