Pinto, Sean 2012 Journal San Francisco Juntal, Mpio. Jala, Chiapas, Mexico (cont.) June 14 ... in the forest. Although I saw a few tiny [illegible], this looks more like [illegible] premontane or even lowland forest rather than cloud forest. Stopped searching at 13:30 to eat lunch, photograph, and prep specimens. After dinner, went back out along same trail and searched from 2[?]:40 - 23:30. It had rained hard from ~15:30-17:00 or so and conditions seemed ideal, but I saw only one small Botrychse on a leaf. I don't understand why we're not seeing any Craugastor here. When we got back, we were told that people from Altar Chrean were mad that we had been given permission to work by the comisario w/o talking to the town assembly first, and that they had complained to the people in San Francisco Juntal. The latter group scheduled a meeting with us tomorrow at 05:00 to discuss it - not good. San Francisco Juntal, Mpio. Jala, Chiapas, Mexico June 15 We stayed up until 03:00 prepping bird specimens + packing in case they decide to kick us out. Slept w/o sleeping bag for 1-2 hours; it was very cold. At 05:00, waited for villagers to come. Meeting convened at 06:30, was conducted in Chol, and resulted in us being kicked out. A few people spoke in our favor, including one small boy ([illegible]) who taught me a few words of Chol (frog = mich, salamander = aket) and told them that we had released some birds. We were the first foreigners to ever visit the site, and they didn't understand what we were doing. We packed up the nets and set off for Nemustiano Carranza. I got a tiny frog ([Eleutherodactylus leprus?]) around 1100 m elev. on the way down. The forest changes to something more like
