Rovers, Dean 2009 Journal Jan.10 Finca chicanon, 10-11 km (rd) E of Yalambajich, Depto Huchuetengo, Guatemala We spent the morning and early afternoon photographing and prepping specimens. We returned to Finca chiccan around 15:00 at Ted's insistence - he said he would not leave until he personally caught a Bradytriton. We searched for ~1hr in tronchios and logs at the trail 10.3 km from Yalambajich, but found only 1 small Bolitoglossa sp. (not collected). We then moved to the spot 0.7 km further on, where we found all the Bradytriton, and searched from approx. 16:45-18:00. We found another small Bolitoglossa (not collected). We waited until about 18:45 and walked the path with lights. I found an adult Bradytriton walking on a log and called Ted over to pick it up - apparently this "counts". He found another small Bolitoglossa (collected) under a log and Carlos got a Graustera rhodopis. We searched until around 20:00, but conditions were dry and we found nothing else. This area has lots of rock (limestone?) with small caves or cracks, some of which were quite deep and seemed moist. It looks like what I picture as great habitat for Ilytantis; I expect they are here and that one could find them if it rained more. Jan.11 Palegua area, Mpio. San Mateo chitan, Depto Huchuetengo, Guatemala We drive to San Mateo chitan and spent the morning getting guides, permits and hotel rooms for the bird and mammal teams, who will work near here for 2-3 days. We then drove back to the forest near Palegua, arriving at approx. 15:00, and began to search in tronchios. Carlos found a Hendrtriton almost immediately, and I found another. Ted got a male, female and a
