Aug. 11 Spent morning prepping specimens. Afterwards, Sally, Luis + I went w/ Lorenzo to visit an area of primary forest SW of town. Walked through pasture for 30 min, then started searching in the forest at 15:00. Started to rain very hard almost immediately. We lost Luis, who went to search in the pasture where there were lots of logs. He found a Dermophis mexicanus + a boa under different parts of the same log. We searched in logs, under rocks + raked through leaf litter in nice forest until 18:30; I found only a C. lorenzianus along a stream. At night, Fed went out + found a Clelia) Andis [illegible], a Leptodactylus melanostictus + 4 Graugaster.
We (everyone else) searched along a path starting near the 2nd cave we had visited yesterday. At an America; 1 Andis brevirostris, 1 elmentodes, 1 leptoderus polydicta + 1 huge female Bolitoglossa altiverm climbing up a small tree. Also saw a Xenosaurus + 2 Lepidophyma. Searched from 22:00- 01:00. Rained until ~18:00, then was cool.
Aug. 12 Spent most of morning prepping. Everyone but Fed went to the nice area of forest (and another nearby patch) and searched from 13:10-14:50; found only 3 Graugaster sharpei. At a Dinia salvia + a leptophis mexicanus from logs in cattle pasture. Cleaned up, packed, and drove to Matias Romero to spend the night.
