Cryptotriton 12/6/09 PeƱ Verde - SMR965 - Color notes (in life) Venter Pale grey-white spots cover gular region on a dark brown background. Dark brown color extends to tip of tail on underside, with grey spots (extensive, as on gular region) extending to just beyond insertion of forelimbs. Few spots continue down center of venter to insertion of hind limbs. Scattered grey-white spots extend 2/3 of way down tail. Underside of limbs is pale brown. Dark brown ventral coloration meets lighter dorsal coloration at midline on flanks. golden brown, slightly darker brown Dorsum Rostrum medium brown. Golden brown patch extends from concave line between front corner of eyes (including "eyelids") to back of head, including also speckled sides of head, with a slightly darker brown triangle extending from eyes to with black and greenish-brown. midline at back of [illegible] head. Dorsum is medium brown, with paler golden brown on sides where dorsal meets ventral coloration, with some black flecks on sides amidst golden brown. Dorsal surfaces of limbs orangish-brown mottled with darker brown. Tail from insertion of hind limbs to 1/2 way to tip is greenish golden-brown, with dark brown + back specks, 1/2 way to tip of tail darker brown (same color as dorsal midline). Sides of tail same as sides of body. Eyes dark golden brown
