into, Jean 2010 Journal June 11 Reserva Nectandra, San Ramon, Alajuela, Costa Rica Spent some time this morning talking to the Fannettes and Alberto Ugalde, one of the founders of the Costarican national park system. Spent most of the rest of the day photographing, prepping and identifying specimens. It rained quite hard in the afternoon and early evening. One of the staff, Freddy, had brought us an Andro and a hyliid yesterday and brought 2 more Andros today. In the evening, beginning at 18:15, we walked up trail C, starting at the end. On the way, we saw 3 E. preussleri (heard many more), 1 B. warszawitzschii + 1 Craugastor near the pond. It was raining fairly hard and the level of herp activity seemed much lower tonight; along the trail, I found only a Craugastor (and heard many [more] calling). Followed back out and searched near the entrance. Flor and Austin found a big OOK Atropoides nummifer on the road outside the gate and a Liriis maculata along the path. Near the greenhouses, Austin and I got another Craugastor (on ground) and a female Andro. I then found a Duellmanohyla Ruficula sitting on a leaf about 0.5m off the ground near a stream. It was clearly raining when we finished searching around 20:20. June 12 We spent much of today identifying and prepping specimens. After dinner, we went out with Felix to look at night. On the morning, we had seen 2 A. nummifer along the trails that the workers had found. In the evening, we started searching at 19:10 and walked to the mirador, finding a C. ressigii and a C. transandi along the trail. Near the mirador, we heard frogs and walked
