ants; Sean 2007 Journal July 28 Sierra de Chuaras, 5 of Palinal, Depto Baja Verapaz, Guatemala (cost) ... also opened a few logs and stumps with good work. We continued north looking for another good spot, but the road drops quickly and the forest becomes quite dry. Only the area along the crest appears good for salamanders. There are several higher peaks to the west of here that would be great to work, but access is difficult at present (no roads). We took the road through Salama and La Cumbre back to Guatemala City, arriving at 21:30. The day was cool and cloudy with thunderstorms nearby, although it didn't rain on us.
