huito, Seon 2008 Journal Peña Verde area, Sierra de Juarez, Oaxaca, Mexico (cont.) Aug.14 ... here is really nice, with big broadleaf trees laden with bromeliads, and was still wet from the afternoon rain. We searched from 21:15 - 23:15 with lights in the forest. I found a Pseuduryces juarezi (?) climbing up a mossy trunk ~2m off the ground. I also found 2 adult males of a small brown Chelotriton, although Gabriela said none are known from here. One was on a leaf ~1m off the ground and the other was in a clump of bromeliads at eye level. These salamanders were much more active than the Pseuduryces and jump like Hensitriton when disturbed. I also found an adult Craugastor on the ground. We drove back to our campsite and realized that we had a flat tire, which we changed before going to sleep. The night was cloudy and somewhat cool, with thunderstorms nearby while we searched, and it rained from about 00:00-01:00 while we were changing the tire. Between Peña Verde and Concepción Pápalo, Sierra de Juarez, Oaxaca, Mexico Aug.15 We packed up our camp and drove uphill towards Concepción Pápalo, and stopped to search around 2650m. The forest here consists of big, mossy oak trees with bromeliads and seemed great for salamanders. We searched in logs for ~30min and found 5 P. aurantiá; I'm sure we could have found many more if we had continued searching.
