Carlos, Jacob and Hector to La Pena del Angel while Fred, who also felt sick, stayed at the cabins. La Pena del Angel is a pair of huge rocks that gave us a great view of the forest in all directions, as well as Cerro Pinolm and San Augustin. On the way back, we opened about 8 legualids just below the Pena and found 1 juvenile Black Bolitoglossa. We walked back along the road and opened a few logs, and I found a slightly bigger Bolitoglossa inside a rotten log. It had pale spots on the sides just like the adult Carlos found last night. It rained lightly and lightly before sunset and was quite cool all afternoon. After a late dinner, we searched on the road and the trail below the cabins from 20:30 - ~ 22:00. Fred went ahead of us and saw nothing. Carlos, Jacob and I found a large juvenile and an adult Bolitoglossa on wet leaves above the ground (15.08238°N, 89.94676°W [WGS84, 8m acc.], 2562m elar.). We also collected 3 Graugatus (1 on road, 2 on trail) and saw about 4 more, some on low vegetation. Conditions seemed very good for amphibians, and I was surprised that we did not see more amphibians, especially some hybrid frogs. The temperature was warmer tonight and the sky was clear. It seems like there must be more species here than we have found, but I think we've made a good start.
