March 31 Armando Zebadua, N of Ocozocoautla, Chiapas, Mexico
We drove out to Ocozocoautla, went 23.2Km N from the north edge of town, and turned left and went 4.3km more to the small village of Armando Zebadua. Jed and Antonio had found Bolitoglossa rufescens / occidentalis here before. We searched in a grove of good red banana trees for about 1 hour.
Jed got 9 Bolitoglossa rufescens / occidentalis, and I got 10 and a Smilisca baudinii, all in banana plants. I also got a big Bolitoglossa alberchi under a pile of banana logs and debris (16.92226°N, 93.48104°W [WG584; 7maes], 924m elev.).
There wasn't anywhere else we could look nearby, so we prepped specimens and relaxed for the rest of the day.
