We hiked down to Nevada Falls and then took the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls. Just below the top of the falls, me stepped in a small cave-like area along the trail (37.72708°N, 119.54348°W [WGS84, 30m acc.], 1538m elev. Terrain Navigator) where I found a juvenile H. platycephalus under a mossy rock around 7:30PM. The area was dripping wet from above and extremely mossy. We found two more juveniles and a subadult, which I got lumeral and ventral swabs from (VFI). It was getting dark as we left and hiked down to Happy Isles, and then returned to Berkeley.
