Olancho Creek, canyon NF, canyon Cr., CA (cont)
June 1
... Norman Simulani said there had been a major flood before he visited last time (1995?) and that he had not found Batrachoseps and had only found Hydromantes in a side canyon, while he found both on his first survey. I found both in the main canyon, and they appear to be fairly abundant. He also found them in sympatry only at 5700', with Batrachoseps lower and Hydromantes up to 7200'. I found Hydromantes lower down, which suggests that they are not excluding each other as I suspected they might.
