Haritos, Dean 2007 Journal Feb. 14-15 Hite Cave, S Fork Merced River and Hell Hollow, Mariposa Co., CA (cont) HH(1)6 adult ♀ dorsal + ventral photos 104008+9 HH(1)7 adult ♂ 104010+11 HH(1)8 adult ♂ 104012 HH(1)9 adult ♂ 104013+14 37.60771°N, 120.13684°W [WGS84, 8m acc], 249m elcv. We searched here until 21:15. We then drove up to the hairpin turn and searched from 21:30-22:30. I found a Batrachoseps dialoides and Ricardo found an adult gravid female H. brunnus, which I handled [HH(2)7 - photos 104015+16, dorsal + ventral] (37.59089°N, 120.12774°W [WGS84, 8m acc], 449m elcv.). We flipped many good rocks and, again, I was surprised not to find more salamanders. After an encounter with the Mariposa Co. police, we decided to head back and go to bed. Feb. 16 N Fork Merced River at Judiah Gulch, Mariposa Co., CA We drove from Hroley Hill down to the junction of the N Fork Merced and Judiah Gulch, where Mike Lutter had taken me last year. We began searching at 10:40 and I found 2 juvenile H. brunnus immediately (37.65755°N, 120.05045°W [WGS84, 6m acc], 421m elcv.). We searched in the mossy rocks along the uphill side of the road with a lot of success, since the ground and moss were quite wet. I found 3 more salamanders big enough to swat plus 5 juveniles too small to swat. I stopped searching at 11:15 and began
