Parks, Dean 2006 Journal Shaman Canyon and Pine Creek, Mono Co. and Lake Meadows, Mammoth Lakes Basin, Mono Co., CA July 6 I drove to Shaman Canyon in the morning. I found my data logger sort-side down in the stream; it was apparently still working and I offloaded it at 0928 and took it with me. I searched the area around my data logger from about 0920-0940 and found a single juvenile I. platycephalus under the same rock as last time when I collected SMR35. I left it alone since this population seems very small. After lunch, I drove to Pine Creek and walked up the side canyon I called Pine Creek (2)-the one closer to 395. I found 2 salamanders while searching ~50m of habitat from 1400-1440, including ~15 min of sunbathing. Both were under rocks next to the stream among nettles. I then walked up the other side canyon of Pine Creek, where my logger is, and found 2 adult salamanders under rocks near the logger at 1530. I took the following swats samples from both canyons: Swatrs # Age/sex Photo Kind PC(2)11 adult ♀ 1030080 B,recent PC(2)12 adult ♂ 1030081 B PC(2)13 subadult 1030082 B PC(1)14 adult ♂ 1030083 B PC(1)15 adult ♀ 1030084 B I offloaded and pulled out my data logger at 1601.
