Pinto, Sean 2005 Journal June 29 Pine Creek, Clwyd National Forest, Clwyd Co., CA (cont.) the stream and another juvenile/subadult at a point farther upstream next to a small cascade (37.38528N, 118.67888W [WG584, 28m asc..], 2152m elev). cl went a little upstream from here but found nothing more. cl returned back to where cl found the first Salamanders, about an hour later, and swabbed the juveniles. As cl was walking back upstream to release them, cl found a large adult female salamander on a rock in some grass along the stream, and got swab samples from it, too. Although cl only found 10 Salamanders, the habitat seems fairly extensive, so the population may be much larger. Much of the stream is heavily vegetated, so parts of it may be less suitable for the salamanders. cl flash-froze all swab samples at 11:45 PM.
