Left Lone Pine this morning and came back around the southern tip of the Sierra's - over WalkerPass again. Kern Co. is so interesting in how dry the areas are like around Lake Isabella yet the riparian corridors that go along the rivers - like the Kern are lush and very wide - I'm sure extremely important for biogeographic patterns. Once in Bakersfield we headed North on the 99 after coming down the 178 along the raging Kern River. The 178 between Lake Isabella and Bakersfield is in a narrow canyon eroded down
