MacLea 1966 Arenaria interpres Two pairs were settled near town. One pair was particularly active, chasing our over Village Lagoon and back onto ridge. 11 June M thinks there is at least three pairs along Elean Lagoon N. of Wohlslag Slough. In the evening - along Elean Lagoon between Wohlslag and Wlpik Sloughs - good activity. First collected a pair car. 400 m. inland from lagoon. F (CSN 492) Had 2 ruptured follicles. Near corner of Lagoon and Wlpik Slough saw a burst of noisy chasing involving 5 birds at once. Did not take the time to untangle it, but it should be worth returning if Wohlslag Slough permits. Probably either 3 or 4 pairs in this pocket - clumped. None seen in North part of bare area, closer to Wohlslag. 13 June at least two pairs active and noisy on Village Ridge. 14 June Along Elean Lagoon North of Wohlslag Slough - found 2 new (4 egg) nests 40 m. and 150 m. South of #1 previously found! Even at these close distances birds remain loosely territorial. Four birds
