Just after noon I walked over and had to dig around in ca 1½" of powder snow to find the eggs. No adult was in sight. I covered the eggs and left them. 2 July Perhaps I spoke prematurely; today the snow was gone and the nest was incubating! If they hatch - it will be impressive - although the fact that the eggs were fresh will increase their chance of surviving. today they have to endure steady rain.
