Maclura 1964 Stecorarius pamerinus 1. 10 June Occasional scattered individuals seen- total of 10 lightphase, 2 melanistic. (on Beach Ridge, Gasline Ridge, Voth area). territorial defence seen once, heard once- both over Voth area. 13 June 1 seen in 1/2 hrs. observation around Fresh Lake. 15 June Pair seen over fresh lake marsh. 1. class l.t. Jaeger over Drum area and immediately N. 17 June $ flew over marsh E. of AACS, with no apparent intent of stopping. Continues on over middle Salt Lagoon. 18 June territorial pair in marsh just beyond gas-line. One bird sitting on mound, other flying. Drove off passing Pomarine, then flew back and landed 3 ft. from bird on mound. Assumes low, body horizontal, posture [illegible] and circled bird on mound, body "bobbing" up and down [illegible]. Completed 3/4 circle in ca. 15 sec, then flew away. 1 July Nest of above pair checked - 2 eggs. Strong defence by adults. 14 July PJ-4 and PJ-3 - both along S edge of Holmes' Morass, <1/2 mi. apart. 2 eggs each. 23 July PJ#1 - below Gasline Ridge - Pakkee
