Machair 1969 Phalaropus fulicarius 9 June Suddenly - like every thing else - they are here and active. Mostly flying about in small flocks and mixed with other species. 10 June About the same. Most of the funora's not nearly ready for these. 11 June they are moving in in some abundance. Had no trouble collecting 6 for Tom Case or flooded area just South of F.A.A. 16 June they have become quite abundant. I look for a goose breeding year. they are moving out in pairs onto the newly available melt ponds. Saw one large pond with 16 birds on it, flying out and back in pairs.
