MacLean 1968 Limonodromes scolopaceus 15 August Saw the first of the year today - 3 birds flying overhead at the N edge of camp, by the ocean. We have seen none on the tundra - which is surprising. 18 August Spent the whole day walking the tundra, including transects at all traplines, and finally found one flock of 10 birds in a pond in an unused wheel road - East side of Central Marsh. 19 August Made the tanglefoot circuit without seeing any. 20 August Saw one - maybe two - by trapline X, then all the way out to jar 500 sample site at Elean Bluffs and back without seeing any others.
