Tryngites subruficollis
9 June
FAP saw at least one and
probably more fly over the Drum Area.
11 June
Just after we reached Britton's
area in the morning 3 birds flew in from
NW and landed near another bird ca. 80
m. from us. One of the birds began
wing-waving, and, after ca. 1 minute, rose
into the H Display . the
others moved in and the displayr
enveloped at least 1 of them, with another
very nearby. this was repeated, and then
the sequence was completed as the
display er prostrated himself and 2 of
the others got onto his back. the birds
then flew away toward the south. FAP
and B.Berry also witnessed this display, and
Bill made some excellent sketches.
