23 June
A pair S. of Family Lagoon was
surely nesting - 4 well along in molt -
but would not quickly reveal nest
location so I was satisfied with feeding
observations.
Found a 1 egg nest on Village
Ridge West of the CRRCL Ice Well.
24 June
Found a 4 egg nest in the
Drum area, the ignoring of it all!
Beautiful & was incubating closely
at 1130, and again when we
returned in the evening. this and
other birds indicate that it is now
(finally) time to find some nests.
It seems late this year.
In the afternoon a loose flock of
c.a. 12 birds was feeding in the East
side of Central Marsh. After some trouble,
collected 1 - a & that has recently been
incubating (good incubation patches-
vascular). Her stomach was stuffed
with Prionocera larvae. Either she
has found a concentration of these or their
feeding style favors selective feeding on
Prionocera.
27 June
Don and I found the nest on the
AACS polygons - 0? incubating on 4 eggs.
