Frequently jump 2 or 3 ft, legs hanging, while feeding or wing waving. 17 June 3 birds still in marsh E of NACS. I see on beach ridge ca 200 yds E of micro-met leaving near pecked sandpiper, chased short distance. Others spaced out along beach ridge W of micro-met. 250 yd apart. 8 June Appear to be abundant in local concentrate in uplands E of gasoline. Across Valt Creek from cake eater 4 birds in succession, @ ca 100 ft from nest. One displaying actively, others passive. Another displaying ca 60 yds from and bird of 4. Others in region. Another accumulation on polygonized uplands E... Little activity, so they cannot accurately estimate numbers. Displaying birds - jump to height of ca 4-5 ft, legs hanging. Repeated 6 times - last 10 sec, then wing wave on ground. Went briefly into wing touch, then went more. Displaying stopped and began feeding. Birds seen. Displaying at 50 yds E of large enclosure S end of Delta plot. Displaying at 25 yds SE of fence. Fight and rising competitive display 75 yds E of enclosure.
