C. alpina
2.
(6 June) is small.
9 June
With warm [illegible] weather - many
more birds in the area and display
for the first time. Every bit of exposed
tunora has some alping, and there was
a great deal of chasing about and
displaying. Saw one flock of about 40
birds South of FAA. Collected 4 - SN
1020 - 1023
10 June
Quite a bit of display today,
although some birds are still in flocks.
Saw a nest-cup display, and a bit
later 3 birds (I think not including the
2 involved in the display) were feeding
quietly at about the same spot.
Inland, where less tunora is exposed,
territorial pairs are occupying small
open spots and displaying.
About as yesterday.

13 June
Birds must have things pretty
well sorted out, as display has dropped
sharply. Birds are closely associated
in pairs, and a number acted as if
laying eggs.
16 June
On southwest extension of Gasline
Ridge - a number of birds seemed to
be unmated. Collected 4 birds - SN #
1047 - 1050. 1050 is a laying f.
