MacLean 1967 C. alpina 24 July with good grass cover. 26 July Flock-up birds are abundant on Beach Ridge along P's Plot and in Holmes' Marsh. 29 July Flocks↑ were not seen in the same area in colour, windier, weather. One adult with a flying immature; the white wing flash on the immature is very prominent - at first we tried to call it a Sawingling. 30 July Wanner weather again, and a large number of birds around Tanglefoot I. Must have been 20 or so alpina with waders, Pluvialis, and a dowitcher. Feeding was mainly pond edge and wet tundra. Some birds are also getting down to feed on the vessel road by the corner of Central Marsh with waders and pusillae. About 10 there today. Others on the ridge, along P's plot. 31 July Saw an adult feeding along gravel spit leading towards Nuvuk. 2 August Wann weather; but found few birds. None at Micro-Met or along beach ridge. Finally found ca. 10 ad. and immature feeding on disturbed wet ground at corner of Central Marsh.
