MacLean 1967 C. alpina 5 June Birds are frequent in bare areas on Beach and Gasline Ridges. Many are closely paired; others in very active post-arrival groups. Saw 1 nest-cup display, repeated, and saw several other cups in tunora. Collected some feeding observations. Only 1♂ gave full aerial display. 7 June None at Nwutk. 8 June Numbers and activity way/not as all impressive. Widely spaced and paired - occasional display - but nothing particularly worthy of note. 9 June Scarce and conspicuously paired along W. arm of Beach Ridge. Activity was quite low in the morning. two pairs seen in the Drum area in the afternoon. 10 June Where are you all? Visited gasline area near Micro Met - heard 1 lousy bird, then P shot a pair as I was walking W. of there. Their absence is notable. Sparse, again, in Voth Area. 1 displaying ♂ in Brittan's Area; more seen S. of FAA, but not much activity. 11 June Widely spaced and only occasional display along Browerville Ridge. the
