Birds are frequent in bare
areas on Beach and Gasline Ridges.
Many are closely paired; others in very
active post-arrival groups. Saw 1
nest-cup display, repeated, and saw
several other cups in tunora. Collected
some feeding observations. Only 1♂
gave full aerial display.
7 June
None at Nwutk.
8 June
Numbers and activity way/not as all
impressive. Widely spaced and paired -
occasional display - but nothing particularly
worthy of note.
9 June
Scarce and conspicuously paired
along W. arm of Beach Ridge. Activity
was quite low in the morning.
two pairs seen in the Drum area
in the afternoon.
10 June
Where are you all? Visited
gasline area near Micro Met - heard 1
lousy bird, then P shot a pair as I
was walking W. of there. Their absence
is notable.
Sparse, again, in Voth Area. 1
displaying ♂ in Brittan's Area; more
seen S. of FAA, but not much activity.
11 June
Widely spaced and only occasional
display along Browerville Ridge. the
